Refurbishing bikes is in our blood.
It’s where we got our start and made a name for ourselves in our community. Although most of the bikes we sell these days are new, we still continue on with this labor of love and maintain a small collection of professionally refurbished bikes for your consideration. In the beginning, Sic Transit Cycles began as two guys refurbishing bikes for themselves. As the word spread in the neighborhood, and then the town, people began seeking them out to take their old classic bike and give it a new life. It wasn’t long before we were finding bikes to refurbish and selling them to our customers.
From these beginnings, and through the staff that we have cultivated, we have kept that spirit alive and still offer a quality collection of professionally refurbished bikes throughout the year for those who like the look and feel of vintage bikes or for those seeking a dependable bike at a lower price point than offered in a new bike.
Over the years we have refined the bikes we seek out for refurbishment. Our attention has moved away from the vintage road bikes we cut our teeth on and we now focus on bikes that would be well suited for urban transportation and recreational riding.
Each bike is completely refurbished by one of our mechanics. With the focus being reliability and durability, any part that seems worn or suspect is replaced, the bikes are cleaned and then tuned. While we don’t keep these bikes on our sales floor, we do maintain a separate instagram account @stc_gallery where the bikes can be viewed and details, including pricing, can be found. Once sold, each bike is removed from this gallery so that there is always an accurate list of what is available.
